FAQs

Does EMK take Insurance?

No, EMK Psychology operates as an out of network provider and does not currently take insurance at this time. However, we will provide you with the proper documentation needed for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Many insurance plans may reimburse a certain percentage for out of network services once a deductible is met.

What does the evaluation process entail?

An intake with the family will be the first step in order to collect sufficient information and the reason for referral. This may entail rating scales, previous reports, school record, etc. After this information is provided, then testing sessions will begin. After testing is completed, then a formal report will be written detailing the results of the evaluation. Once the report is finalized, a feedback session will be scheduled to review the results.

How long do evaluations take?

Depending on the type of evaluation, sessions may take place over the course of two to three days with a few hours each day.

Are testing sessions done in person or online?

All testing sessions are conducted in person. However, feedback sessions may be completed virtually if families prefer this option.

Are there specific profiles or areas of focus within this practice?

We specifically focus on assessing individuals with learning difficulties and attentional challenges. We also work with families and schools to assess for specialized or gifted programs.
